What size should I buy?

Our hats follow standard Akubra sizing. To find your best fit, use a tape measure to measure around your head where you’d like your hat to sit (usually just above the ears and across the forehead).

Take the measurement in centimetres and match it to our size guide.

Hat Care & Maintenance

Will my hat shrink?

No — Jaxonbilt hats do not shrink. Over time it can relax slightly with heat and wear, allowing the hat to mould comfortably to your head for a personalised fit.

How do I clean my hat?

For light dust or dirt, gently brush your hat using a hat brush.

If your hat needs a deeper clean, use warm soapy water and a hat brush to lightly scrub the affected areas. Rinse carefully and allow the hat to dry naturally in the sun.

If your hat has mould:

1. Vacuum the hat to remove as much mould as possible.

2. Lightly mist the hat with straight vinegar mixed with a few drops of oil of cloves.

3. Gently scrub with a hat brush.

4. Reshape the hat

5. Place the hat in the sun to dry completely.

My hat has lost its shape and stiffness. What can I do?

You can easily reshape your hat at home using steam.

  1. Use a kitchen kettle to gently steam the hat until it softens.
  2. Reshape the hat by hand to your desired shape.
  3. In a cup, mix 2 tablespoons of gelatine with a small amount of water to form a paste.
  4. Add boiling water, then microwave briefly until boiling and stir until the gelatine is fully dissolved.
  5. Using a paintbrush, apply the gelatine mixture liberally to the hat to help set the shape.
  6. Check and adjust the shape as needed.
  7. Place the hat in the sun and allow it to dry completely.

Shipping, Returns & Exchanges

We use Australia Post for all shipments. Once your order has been dispatched, it is in the hands of the carrier, and delivery timeframes are subject to Australia Post’s network and services.

What is the shipping policy?

Once you have confirmed your quote, you will receive a confirmation email letting you know your order is ready for production. Once your order is fulfilled, you will receive an email notification with your tracking information. Shipping fees are non-refundable in the case of returns.

I've received my hat, but its not quite right. What can I do?

We want you to be completely happy with your hat. If it’s not quite right, you can send it back to us and we’ll happily make any adjustments or remake it for you. Only postage costs will apply.

Alternatively, we are happy to offer you a refund if preferred.
